A Book Café (Book Inn?) at Åkra School

On Tuesday 1. -4. grade invited their grandparents and other grown ups to come to school. For a couple of weeks reading has been the main topic. So this day the pupils shared books they had read with their grandmas and grandpas, who also read to the pupils and told stories from former days. Of course, when you go to a café, you order something to eat.  Buns and lemonade. This day class 8-10 was invited to a concert at Rosendal, that is our municipal centre, so the other classes were free to use their classroom as well.

Do you do things like this in Ireland and England?

What a lovely idea! No we have not done anything like this in our school in Ireland, but having read this, I think we might just do it. When we are in our new classroom later on this year, we might just invite everyone in our community to visit us.
